University of Edinburgh offers Principal’s Career Development PhD Scholarships to attract the outstanding and brightest students.

Number of scholarships: 45

Scholarship value: UK/EU rate of tuition fee; stipend of £14,500

Duration: 3 years (Subject to satisfactory progress)

Eligibility:

  • The scholarship is open to UK, EU and overseas (International) students applying to start the Ist year of study for a research degree in 2017-2018.
  • Applicants must contact the School with whom they wish to study before applying for the award to make sure whether the funding is available for the discipline involved.
  • Applicants must apply for admission to a full-time Doctoral research programme of study at the University (part-time PhD research programme students will only be considered for the scholarship if they have the approval of the School they wish to study with).
  • Applicant must have good English Language skills. IELTS minimum score of 7.0 achieved within the past two years.
  • Applicants must have exceptional academic merit and research potential.
  • Applicant must have or expected to receive, a UK Ist class or 2:1 honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.
