A 3 year fixed term position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Psychology, University of Oslo, Norway is available.The candidate will be affiliated with the Multimodal Imaging Group at the Norwegian Centre for Mental Disorders Research (NORMENT)
The University of Oslo is the oldest and highest rated institution in Norway’s NORMENT, a Norwegian Centre of Excellence, coordinates a translational multicenter study and involves all University hospitals in Oslo and several groups at the Universities of Oslo and Bergen. The postdoctoral fellow plays a central role in the study and distribution of data from a large imaging genetics database, in particular spotlighting on developing and applying multivariate tools for data mining, classification and prediction.
The main aims are to untie the neurobiological, genetic, psychological and environmental factors donating to the development of mental illness. Through our infrastructure for clinical assessment, cognitive evaluation, neuroimaging and biobanking we are gathering a large imaging genetics database including data from healthy controls and patients who suffer from schizophrenia and bipolar disorders, and other brain disorders.
Qualifications and Requirements:-
- The candidate must be ambitious and highly motivated for pursuing a career in science.
- PhD in psychology, neuroimaging, computational/cognitive neuroscience, biomedical engineering, biostatistics, or equivalent,
- A strong background and concern in neuroscience, genetics, MRI analysis or biostatistics, and a sturdy publication record.
- The applicant must hold an experience with MRI analysis tools, and must have an interest and expertise in imaging genetics, brain network and connectivity analysis, or multivariate pattern recognition or machine learning techniques is an advantage.
- Confirmed ability in shell scripting, Matlab, R, python or similar programming languages or software tools is a must.
