The Department of Animal and Aquacultural Sciences (IHA), Centre for Integrative Genetics at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) invites applications for a 1-year researcher position. The successful candidate will work within the CIGENE environment, which includes comprehensive molecular lab facilities and a strong environment dedicated to bioinformatics and genomics..
About the project:
- Selected candidate will be part of two projects, Digisal and GenoSysFat, that aims to understand the regulation of metabolism of Atlantic salmon.
- Selected fellow will perform lab-task related to generation of various omic’s data as well as performing extensive literature reviews to inform mathematical modelling of lipid metabolism.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Participate in the generation of a knowledge database for the Atlantic salmon lipid metabolism
- Analyse gene expression data (RNAseq) from Atlantic salmon
Qualifications:
- Applicant must hold Master’s degree in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry
- Applicant must demonstrate in depth knowledge about lipid metabolism; experience with analyses of transcriptomics data and familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g. R, python, perl, etc)
- Applicant must possess proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
