Scholarship Program at Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) in Sweden for the year 2019
Level of education: NAI is offering grants for Master, PhD and Postdoc candidates.
The aim of the scholarship program is to offer a 1-month long stay at the Institute in order to facilitate the use of the Institute’s library collections on contemporary Africa (books, periodicals, newspapers, & government publications & to create links to existing research at the Institute.
The NAI is jointly financed by Nordic countries Sweden, Finland, Norway & Iceland.
Subject Areas: Scholarship is awarded within the discipline of Social Sciences & Humanities.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers
- Travelling expenses.
- Accommodation centrally located in Uppsala.
- The scholarship also include a subsistence allowance of SEK 150 per day.
Conditions of Eligibility:
- Master students, PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers
- Pursuing Africa-oriented studies/research in Social Sciences and Humanities
- Affiliated to universities and research centers in Sweden, Finland and Iceland are eligible
- Candidates of all nationality can apply
- Africa-oriented journalists & writers within the discipline of Social Sciences and Humanities in Sweden, Finland and Iceland can also apply for a scholarship.
- The candidate should have a very good command over the English language.
