The Department of Public Security Law at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, headed by director Professor Dr. Ralf Poscher is offering several positions for Doctoral Researchers (f/m/d), Senior Researchers and Junior Researchers.
Requirements:
Doctoral researchers: Multiple positions
- First or Second German State Law Exam with a well above average grade or an equivalent legal degree with an equivalent grade from a foreign university or law school.
- Non-native speakers of German or English should demonstrate advanced proficiency in academic writing in at least one of these languages.
Senior Researchers (m/f/d): Multiple positions
- Applications are open to candidates with a graduate degree in law or in philosophy, political science, or the social sciences, with excellent grades.
- Applicants should possess a keen interest in the normative and/or empirical foundations of criminal law and sanctioning systems or in the law of sexual offences.
- Another major requirement is an interest in interdisciplinary and transnational approaches to criminal law.
- Applicants should have completed and published a doctoral thesis and preferably also other papers and publications in English (or German).
- Researchers will contribute to projects being carried out in the Department of Criminal Law, while also pursuing their own book projects and publications.
Junior Researchers (m/f/d): 2 positions
- Applications are invited from candidates with a keen interest in the foundations of criminal law or in the law of sexual offences.
- Requirements are the completion of graduate studies in law, philosophy, or social sciences with outstanding results.
- Preference is given to applicants with degrees from universities in English-speaking countries.
