Shorenstein Postdoctoral Fellowships in Contemporary Asia

The Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) at Stanford University is announcing call for two 2018-19 Shorenstein Postdoctoral Fellows in Contemporary Asia-Pacific Studies. The main focus of the fellowship is on contemporary political, economic, or social change in Asia-Pacific region (including Southeast, Northeast, and South Asia), or topics in international relations and international political economy. Fellows are also required to present their research findings in center seminars, and to participate in the center’s publication program.

Applications starts: September 19, 2019

Deadline: January 7, 2019

Duration: The postdoctoral fellowship is a 10-month appointment. Postdoctoral fellowship must be taken in APARC for the duration of the appointment, and to take part in center activities throughout the academic year.

Salary: $52,000 plus $2,000 for research expenses.

Sarting date: Appointments will begin in the fall quarter of the 2019–20 academic year.

Eligibility: Applicants must have PhDs either recent degree conferral and approval by January 7, 2019, or have obtained PhD within the past 5 years or equivalent in research experience
