Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) is inviting applications to recruit a Research Scientist who will integrate into a group of nine scientists to identify and validate new cancer targets in the emerging areas of Tumor Metabolism, Immunotherapy and immunometabolism, Cell signaling and Translational research.
Role and responsibilities:
- Selected candidates will be responsible for the design and execution of experiments toward target identification and validation in one of these research disciplines: Cellular cancer biology focusing in the areas of cell signaling and metabolism; Immuno-oncology cancer biology focusing in the identification of novel immunocheckpoints.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD degree in a Biomedical Science.
- Applicant must al teast have four years of postdoctoral research experience either in pharmaceutical industry or a top academic laboratory.
- Molecular and Cellular biology: experiments involving cell culture of human and mouse cells, 3D culture, biochemistry and molecular biology particularly cloning, retroviral expression systems and gene silencing using shRNAs and CRISPR technology.
- Advanced experience in animal models in particular tumor animal models both spontaneous tumor formation in genetically modify mouse models, as well as xenograft and allogratf models; in vivo imaging.
- Generation, screening and analysis of cDNA and shRNA libraries.
- Knowledge in tumor metabolism (Seahorse analysis, Metabolomics), tumor immunology and immunotherapy will be highly regarded.
- Applicant must possess fluency in English.
- Ability to travel at least once a year.
