By bringing together academic groups, industries and the non-academic, green-policy-making sector to form this exciting EJD training programme we are providing the ESRs with an outstanding opportunity to acquire cutting-edge, green-tribology knowledge for the needs of Europe and some of its most advanced engineering sectors.

Requirements / Qualifications

The Admission Requirements for students who wants to enroll in the Green TRIBOS – Joint Doctorate Programme in Tribology of Surfaces and Interfaces are:

  1. be an Early Stage Researcher (in the first four years of their research careers)
  2. hold a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science or engineering, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or nanotechnology with an average GPA score of 80 %

Required documents

During online application the following information and/or documents are requested:

  1. CV
  2. A full list of bachelors- and master-degree courses, with scores and official translation in English
  3. Two reference letters from academic staff who know the applicant personally
  4. Motivation letter
  5. Certificate of English knowledge (TOEFL 92 or IELTS 6.5 score).
  6. TOEFL scores validity remain valid for 2 years after the test date. TOEFL scores more than 2 years old cannot be reported or verified.
