TWAS-UNESCO Associateship Scheme: Natural Sciences 4637 views

TWAS in association with UNESCO and a number of centres of excellence has initiated a Joint Associateship Scheme to enable skilled researchers from the South to visit these centres regularly. Almost 300 centres have been marked to participate in the Scheme.  The selection process of associates is highly competitive; appointments are made based on merit.

Duration: Appointments have a fixed duration of 3 years. Associate may visit the host institution two times, for a period of 2-3 months each time.

Fellowship value:

  • covers the travel expenses
  • USD300/month towards incidental local expenses
  • host centre covers accommodation and food; the research facilities

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must hold Doctorate or equivalent degree.
  • Applicants from isolated institutions in developing countries are given special attention.
  • Women scientists are especially encouraged to apply.

  • Recent invitation letter (on the host institution’s letterhead paper)
  • CV
  • Complete list of publications.
  • 2 letters of recommendation must be submitted separately to TWAS (one of the referees must be from an expert from another country).
