Two (02) PhD student in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Treatment of bacterial infections, Uppsala University, Sweden.

The two PhD student positions are associated with the research group Pharmacometrics, Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences. The positions will have a main focus on antibiotic treatment in bacterial infections.

Overview

Number of reference: UFV-PA 2020/1435

The candidates will be part of the MSCA/Marie Curie European Training Network (ETN) TIPAT: Training towards Innovative Personalized Antibiotic Therapy. TIPAT offers a cutting-edge training-by-research program for in total 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) in Europe who will investigate translation and integration of biological and pharmacological data related to drug-pathogen-host interactions towards personalized therapies.

Qualifications / Requirements: 

The applicants should have an

  1. MSc degree in a relevant area, such as pharmaceutical sciences, or medicine, or other similar education (including courses in pharmacokinetics, physiology, and pharmacology).
  2. The applicant should be highly motivated and have a genuine interest for research in the field of pharmacometrics and bacterial infections.
  3. The applicant is expected to have excellent skills in oral and written English.

Additional qualifications: Additional qualifications include experience of pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modelling of antibiotics, and programming in R.

  1. a motivation letter with a brief description of the candidate and research interests as well as experiences in relation to the requirements and qualifications listed above, and the topics pharmacometrics, antibiotics, clinical trials and/or immune response,
  2. CV,
  3. Copies of diplomas and certificates,
  4. Two recommendation letters, (where one should be from a supervisor of the Master thesis)
  5. Thesis as well as other relevant documents that the applicant wish to refer to.

Salary: According to local agreement for PhD students.

Starting date: 01-09-2020 or as otherwise agreed.

Type of employment: Temporary position according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 7.
