Two PhD Fellowship Positions in Extragalactic Astronomy, DTU Space, Technical University Of Denmark.
Description
Research Area: Astronomy, Physics, or any other Related disciplines (DAWN’s research themes: high-redshift galaxy evolution, epoch of re-ionization, first stars and galaxies, dust and ISM in the early universe and dark matter).
First Fellowship: The first fellowship is intended to work on numerical simulations of the first galaxies as they formed and evolved during the cosmic dawn epoch.
Second Fellowship: The second fellowship will work on observational data of high-redshift galaxies and galaxy protoclusters.
Duration: These PhD Positions are available for three (03) years.
Tasks Involved: The successful candidates are expected to:
- Manage and carry out their own research project,
- Write half-year progress reports,
- Disseminate results at conferences and through scientific articles,
- Undertaketeaching duties (up to 15% of working time) and attend PhD courses (30 ECTS).
- Also, a mandatory research stay during a semester abroad is to be foreseen.
Requirements / Qualifications
Candidates should have a two-year master’s degree.
