Two postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics are available in the research group of Prof. Frank Wilczek at the Department of Physics at Stockholm University in collaboration with Nordita. The scope of the research includes condensed matter analogues of axions as well the particle physics around axions and their cosmological implications, and the use of anyons for topological quantum computing.
The successful applicants will work as part of an expanding research group directed by Frank Wilczek. The funding is provided by European Research Council under the Advanced Grant Program and Swedish National Research Council.
Qualification requirements
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Candidates are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.
Main responsibilities
Research on the subject of axions, widely interpreted, as described above.
The successful candidate will have expertise in at least one of the focus research areas of the group, and is expected to be able to do independent work, work in collaboration with other group members wherein initiative are welcome in order to contribute to the research.
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills. Candidates with interest in experimental design are also also encouraged to apply.
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of two years, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances.
Start date September 1, 2019 or as per agreement.
