- The award can be renewed provided the candidate achieves satisfactory academic scores in his/her faculty, continue to demonstrate financial need, and maintain the Canadian study permit (student visa).
Eligibility criteria: The candidate must be:
- an international student who will be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit
- entering UBC from a recognized secondary school, college, or other university.
- applying for his/her first undergraduate degree.
- fulfilling UBC’s all admission requirements, including general and degree-specific requirements and the English Language Admission Standard.
- must demonstrate superior academic achievement (at least an A average or equivalent standard).
- must demonstrate a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent the candidate from pursuing a UBC degree.
