The Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award is aimed at international undergraduate students. The students should demonstrate:

- Financial need is determined by tuition, fees, and living costs, minus the financial contribution that can be made annually by the student or his/her family.

- The Award can be renewed for up to 3 additional years of undergraduate study or to degree completion, whichever is less.
- The award can be renewed provided the candidate achieves satisfactory academic scores in his/her faculty, continue to demonstrate financial need, and maintain the Canadian study permit (student visa).
Eligibility criteria: The candidate must be:
- an international student who will be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit
- entering UBC from a recognized secondary school, college, or other university.
- applying for his/her first undergraduate degree.
- fulfilling UBC’s all admission requirements, including general and degree-specific requirements and the English Language Admission Standard.
- must demonstrate superior academic achievement (at least an A average or equivalent standard).
- must demonstrate a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent the candidate from pursuing a UBC degree.

The applicant must submit the online application for admission to UBC through the given link by the deadline.
The UBC English Language Admission Requirement must be completed by 31st January.
