University College Dublin (UCD) invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2 (Irish Pb-Zn Mineral Deposits), UCD School of Earth Sciences (Temporary) at the Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences (iCRAG).
The main focus of the project is to generate data required for the discovery of new zinc deposits in Ireland and analogous deposits elsewhere in the world, and will focus primarily on the following four well-known Irish deposits:
- Navan Zn-Pb Deposit
- Lisheen-Galmoy Deposits
- Stonepark, Tobermalug & Pallas Green
- Abbeytown
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD in a relevant research subject area
- Applicant must have strong background in geology with expertise in a selection of the following areas: economic geology, structural geology, sedimentology and 3D modelling
- Applicant must demonstrate commitment to research and publications and an understanding of the operational requirements for a successful research project
- Applicant must provide scholarly output (working papers, research proposals, and ability to outline a research project.
- Applicant must possess excellent Communication Skills (Oral, Written, Presentation etc).
