The University of Helsinki yearly allocates funding to doctoral programmes for employing doctoral students in salaried employment relationships (salaried positions). These doctoral student positions are designated as full-time work.
About the funded positions:
- The aim is that doctoral students employed by the University will complete their degree in four years.
- The 2019 call includes additional positions earmarked in particular for projects on artificial intelligence and AI solutions in all fields of science and scholarship.
Requirements:
- Candidate should be eligible to apply for a salaried position. Candidate can apply for a salaried position in a doctoral programme if he/she is currently a doctoral student at the University of Helsinki or planning to pursue a doctoral degree.
- If candidate already has been granted the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki, he/she can apply for a salaried position, provided the candidate have not yet spent a total of four years in the position of a salaried doctoral student.
- Candidate can apply for a salaried position either from own doctoral programme or from another doctoral programme, which suits his/her research profile.
- If candidate get a salaried position from another doctoral programme, he/she is required to ask for the change of doctoral programme
- If candidate do not yet hold the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki, he/she can apply for a salaried position if your research plan fits the profile of the doctoral programme.
- If candidate do not yet hold the right to pursue a doctoral degree, he/she can apply for the right with the same application.
