Uppsala University: PhD in Chemistry: Department of Chemistry, Uppsala University invited application for filling up the PhD position in chemistry at The Department of Chemistry – Ångström to conduct research and education in the chemistry field focused on the development of a novel type of nanocarriers, referred to as lipodisks, as a versatile platform for efficient and selective delivery of anticancer agents to tumour cells.
About the Positions: Selected candidates will be part of a research group led by Katarina Edwards with the aim to explore the possibilities to use lipodisks for formulation and delivery of chemotherapeutic drugs and anticancer peptides. The group conducts research in colloid and surface chemistry with special focus on fundamental studies and bioanalytical/ pharmaceutical applications of soft surfaces and nanoparticles built from polar lipids.

Duration: Temporary position for four years.
Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have master degree in chemistry, pharmacy, material science or similar, including at least 90 credits in chemistry, good collaborative skills, drive and independence and strong knowledge in colloid and surface chemistry. Candidates with Experience in work with lipid-based drug nanocarriers will be preferred.
