University of Wisconsin-Madison opens applications for its A.W. Mellon Postdoctoral fellowship program in humanities and humanistic social sciences. The fellowship is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The theme for 2017-2019 fellowship is Translation, Adaptation, and Transplantation.
Duration: fellowship is available for 2 years.

Eligibility:
- Applicant must hold a Doctorate in a humanities discipline or in the humanistic social sciences.
- Applicants must be scholars who are yet to be tenured and who are within 5 years of having received their Doctorate.
- Applicant must have received Doctorate degree between August 2012 and August 2017.
- Applicants who do not hold a Doctorate but expect to receive I before the commencement of the fellowship (August 28, 2017) must provide a letter from the head of home institution confirming the degree award schedule.
- Applicants holding PhD or other doctoral degrees from UW-Madison are not eligible for this fellowship.
- The fellowship is open for all nationalities.
Fellowship value: Stipend- $60,282/A.Y.; $5,000/year research allowance; health insurance.

- Research Proposal (up to 2,000 words)
- CV including work forthcoming and in progress.
- Writing sample (up to 25 pages)
- 3 Reference letters (Confidential).
- Statement of teaching philosophy or sample syllabi or descriptions of courses that has been taught by the applicant or would like to teach (Optional)
