Postdoctoral Associate Position– Nanomaterials for Biomedical Delivery: Announcing a joint postdoctoral associate position for a highly collaborative project in the research groups of Professor Dennis Liotta and Professor Eilaf Ahmed in the Department of Chemistry and the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Emory University.

Requirements: This position seeks a chemist, biomaterial scientist, an engineer, or materials scientist with a strong background in biomaterials and cell culture.

The successful candidate is expected to have research experience in the design & synthesis of diagnostic and therapeutic nanomaterials, modification of biomolecules for bio-conjugation, cell culture, and cell proliferation assays.

Background in organic and/or polymer synthesis, functionalization and characterization is required.

This collaborative project will cover aspects of drug discovery, biomaterials, drug delivery, cell and vascular biology, and animal studies. The joint project will develop a new platform of smart biomaterials as vehicles for drug delivery and for encapsulation of therapeutics for altered pharmacokinetics and bioavailability. The project involves collaborations with the Emory Institute for Drug Development.
