Postdoctoral Fellowship in photo-chemistry/organic synthesis and mass spectrometry Denmark

The successful applicant for this position in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark will be working in an interdisciplinary project spanning from metal photo-chemistry/organic synthesis and mass spectrometry.

Fundamental understanding and exploration of the analytical potential of photo-active metals in the field of pharmaceutical peptide synthesis is the main objective of this project. This includes investigation of novel routes of producing post-translational modifications to pharmaceutical relevant peptides.

The project embarks on state-of-the-art mass spectrometric techniques such as orbitrap mass spectrometry utilizing advanced peptide/protein fragmentation techniques of synthetic peptide libraries.

The successful candidate should be able to work independently and be self-motivated. A prerequisite for application submission is a strong background in chemistry/protein chemistry with documented experience in mass spectrometry.

Applicants are expected to be highly motivated, reliable and interested in working in an interdisciplinary and international environment. A good command of English is a requirement.
