Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) invites applications for Bangchak Master & Doctoral Scholarships. Applications are invited in Energy Program or Environment Engineering and Management Program in Dept. of Energy, Environment, and Climate Change with strong interests in the field of smart city and sustainable energy.

Scholarship value: fully-funded (covering the stipend and tuition fees)

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • carry out innovative research in the field of smart city and sustainable energy
  • researchers will be expected to initiate and contribute to writing of proposals and other external funding streams

Requirements:

For Master’s students

  • Applications are invited from highly motivated and excellent researchers who possess Ist class (honours) bachelor degree or equivalent (a GPA or average mark of at least 85% or the top 10% of graduates) in discipline like Electrical/ Mechanical/Civil/Environment Engineering or in relevant fields.
  • Applicant must have relevant industrial and research experience; hardware experience; knowledge on Converters, prototype development.
  • Applicant must also demonstrate exceptional coding ability in programming tools such as Matlab, Python etc. and experience in design and applican tools or other electrical power system analysis and power electronics simulation tools
  • Applicant must be able to present results in technical reports, and prepare scientific papers for publication in international refereed journals.
  • Applications are open to students from any country. English is the official language of communication at AIT.
  • Duration: The period of student assistantship is 24 months.

For Doctoral students

  • Applicant must be highly motivated and excellent possessing Ist class (honours) bachelors and master’s degrees or equivalent (a GPA or average mark of at least 85% or the top 10% of graduates) in discipline like Electrical/Power Engineering or in relevant field.
  • Applicant must have relevant industrial and research experience; hardware experience; knowledge on Converters, prototype development.
  • Applicant must also have exceptional coding ability in programming tools such as Matlab, Python etc. and experience in design and modelling tools like Simulink/PSIM/LabVIEW/ or other electrical power system analysis and power electronics simulation tools.
  • Applicant must be able to present results in technical reports, and prepare scientific papers for publication in international refereed journals.
  • Applicant must be capable of working within a project team to achieve innovative results with exceptional communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants having experience in incubation/founding start-up company would hold added advantage
  • Duration: The period of student assistantship is 42 months.
