CANES Programme: 10 fully-funded 4-year PhD studentships 2274 views

The CANES training programme consists of a first year combining taught courses and research projects, leading to the award of a Master’s degree, in year’s 2 to 4, leading to a Doctoral degree. Students will also be able to undertake internships at a broad range of industrial and international academic partners.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have an excellent undergraduate or equivalent qualification in any relevant discipline including mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, materials science, biophysics, geophysical sciences and computer science.
  • Applicants with strong background in quantitative science will be able to take full advantage of the CANES training programme
  • Applicant must hold or expect to receive a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) with Ist class honours in a relevant discipline
  • Note: A 2:1 (upper second class) honours degree (or international equivalent) may be acceptable depending on the candidate’s academic background, including e.g. strong performance (predicted or achieved) in a Master’s degree, or mitigating personal circumstances.
  • Applicant must have a good command of English and be able to apply this in an academic environment.
  • Applicants are required to provide certificated proof of competence in English before starting the studies.
