Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) and the Department of Economics offer various Doctoral scholarships and Doctoral positions as research or teaching assistants. Selected candidates will earn their Doctoral at the Munich Graduate School of Economics (MGSE).

Starting date: October 2019

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have knowledge in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics at an advanced master’s level.
  • Applicant must have completed master’s degree in economics.
  • Applicant must be highly motivated to conduct independent research.
  • Fluency in the German language is not required for admission.

Salary:

  • PhD students are paid according to a 75% position under the German TVL-E 13 payment scheme (or a roughly equivalent scholarship).

Applicants need the following documents for their application:

  • CV
  • Letter of motivation
  • Certificate of secondary education (if available, encouraged)/ bachelor’s diploma/ master’s diploma (or preliminary transcript of records)
  • Proof of English proficiency, GRE results
  • 2 letters of recommendation.
  • All documents must either be in English or German.
  • Application to be filed via an online application tool.
