The Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen seeks to appoint two senior researchers to commence as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Research, including publication/academic dissemination
- Development of methods to requested case work in forensic chemistry
- Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers, e.g. PhD-students
- Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
- Academic assessments
- Participate in requested case work in cases related to criminal investigations
Qualifications:
- Applicant must have research qualifications at the level that can be achieved by satisfactorily completing a period of employment as an assistant professor/postdoc, but may also be obtained in other ways
- Experience with requested case work in forensic chemistry; experience with the work under an accreditation; insight in the practices and requirements of the Danish judicial system and public government
- Applicant must be able to write and speak Danish
- Candidate must have research experience with modern mass spectrometry techniques, such as liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
- Experience with development and programming of automated sample pre-treatment procedures using fully automated robotics units is expected.
- Development and programming of drug databases coupled on-line to mass spectrometry instruments are also required skills.
- Knowledge of application of laboratory information system (LIMS) driven processes in the laboratory is supposed.
- Candidate is required to have experience with forensic case work and be able to contribute to writing forensic declarations for use in police cases.
