The Surrey’s Automotive Engineering Research Group (AERG) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Sciences (MES), is offering three PhD scholarships, funded by ESPRC and Jaguar Land Rover.

The funding will cover home fees and normal EPSRC stipend (currently £14000/year). All students may apply for this research project, but the full funding is guaranteed for UK and EU students. The start date of the project is October 2016.
Key Research areas: The PhD research activity is related to development of Cloud-based Fault-Tolerant Vehicle States Estimation and Control Systems using Data Fusion of On-board Vehicle Sensors and External Digital Sources.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Applicants have to satisfy the standard university eligibility criteria and should have a good Master’s degree (equivalent of first-class distinction). Background in area of vehicle state estimation and control is asset. Experience with IPG CarMaker, C++, and dSPACE would also be a plus.
