The Aga Khan Foundation offers a limited no. of scholarships every year for master studies to outstanding students from some select developing countries. Scholarships are awarded on 50% grant and a 50% loan basis through a competitive application procedure once a year in June or July.
The Aga Khan Foundation provides priority to Master’s level applicants but is also willing to cogitate applications for PhD programs, only in the case where an outstanding students who is highly recommended for PhD studies by their professors and who prove that a PhD degree is essential for the fulfilment of their career objectives (academic and / or research oriented).
Eligibility
Geographic Scope
The Foundation accepts applications from the nationals of the following mentioned countries:
India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique.
In UK, USA, France, Portugal, and Canada: applications can be accepted from those who are originally from any of the above mentioned developing countries and are interested in development-related studies with no other means of financing their education.
Age Limit:
Preference is specified to students who are under 30 years of age.
Application Procedures
The application process of AKF’s International Scholarship Program is decentralized. Candidates can acquire the application forms starting from January 1st each year from the AKF offices or the Aga Khan Education Services / Boards in their respective countries of current residence.
Completed application forms should be strictly submitted to the agency from where the form was obtained.
Application Deadline: 8th – March 31
Applicants should contact the local offices for internal deadline dates (If applicable) and other requirements.
Incomplete or Late applications will not be considered.
