The University of Luxembourg and the Doctoral Training Unit on Enforcement in Multi-level Regulatory Systems II (REMS-II) is opening 1 funded PhD position in Financial Market Law Ref: 50012575 / R-AGR-3414-17-C PRIDE (to be mentioned in all correspondence).

Duration: 36 months fixed-term contract, extendable up to 48 month

Role and responsibilities:
  • The doctoral candidate will conduct research under the guidance of Pierre-Henri Conac with the aim of studying towards a PhD in Financial Market Law and more specifically on the topic of centralised and/or decentralised approach to EU securities law enforcement and possibly also with links to the issue of equivalence with third countries.
  • The doctoral candidate will publish research results and present them at conferences, workshops, etc.
  • The selected candidate shall contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold Master’s degree in Law; a multidisciplinary background in Law and in Economics is an advantage.
  • Applicant must possess the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language.
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and excellent communication and team working skills are required.
