University of Reading is offering fully funded research studentships for all international / overseas (non UK & EU) students. The studentship is open for students enrolling in PhD degree for October 2018.

The studentships is available for students for research within the faculties of :

  • Science
  • Humanities and Social Science
  • Life Sciences and Arts

Nationality:

  • Open for all international non UK & EU students.
  • There is no other restriction on nationality.

Duration of Scholarships: Studentships are available for 3 years

Level of Study: PhD degree

Subject area: Science, Humanities and Social Science, Life Sciences and Arts.

Scholarship Amount: There are 2 studentship categories:

Fully funded studentships will receive:

  • Full tuition fees at the international / overseas students rate
  • Stipend (subsistence grant)
  • Allowance for training and development

Tuition fees only studentships will receive:

  • full tuition fees at the international / overseas students rate.
  • allowance for training and development.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicants must come from countries outside of UK & EU.
  • There is no other restriction on the nationality of the students.
  • Students must meet all the entry requirements for the PhD program.
  • Students must meet the English language entry requirement.
  • Students must enroll for October 2019 start.
  • Students must apply to faculties of Science, Humanities and Social Science, Life Sciences and Arts.

Number of Scholarships Available:

  • 1 studentship is available for fully funded i.e. category 1
  • 6 studentships for full tuition fees only i.e. category 2

Selection Criteria:

  • The fully funded studentships will be awarded to the students in any area within the faculties mentioned above.
  • The 6 studentships for full tuition fees only will be awarded to the students with the following research themes:
  1. Environment
  2. Food
  3. Health
  4. Prosperity & Resilience
  5. Heritage & Creativity

How to Apply: Application can be done through the online admission portal.

Documents required: The proposal should be of maximum 700 words excluding references. The applicant would be required to:

  • Upload a summary of the research proposal including
  • The skill set and relevant experiences

Application Deadline: 31st January 2019 for October 2019 session.

Result Notification:

  • The successful candidates will receive a formal award letter by May 15th, 2019.
  • It should be noted that this letter will be provided separately from the Offer of Admission letter.
  • Unfortunately, due to high volume of applicants, unsuccessful applicants will not be informed.
