Holland Scholarship Program: International students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) are invited to apply for the Holland Scholarship program, which consist of a non-recurrent scholarship of €5,000 Euros.
Funding agency: The Holland Scholarship is financed by Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science alongwith 48 Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
Eligibility Conditions:
- Students who hold a non-EU/EEA passport
- Would like to do a Bachelor’s / Master’s program at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) may apply for the Holland Scholarship.
Procedure: How to apply
The application procedure for the Holland Scholarships differs per faculty. For the coming academic year of 2017-2018, most faculties will supplement the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship with the Holland Scholarship.
The specific eligibility requirements, selection criteria and application instructions varies with the Faculty or Graduate School websites.

- Bachelor’s students: Humanities
- Master’s students: Social and Behavioural Sciences
- Master’s students: Science
UvA exchange students
Holland Scholarship(s) are also available to UvA students / reserachers who will be going for a exchange to study in a non-European country. For exchange students, selection scores will lead in determining the recipients of the Holland Scholarship.
