The Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) is inviting applications for a Junior Group Research Leader (m/f) position. The IKZ is well equipped with modern diffractometer set-ups for in-house research activities to support IKZ projects on various structure analysis tasks.
Requirements:
- The selected candidate will be highly motivated
- Applicant must have 0 to 3 years’ experience after PhD thesis on advanced X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques in the area of nanostructures, thin film and bulk crystal characterization.
- The successful candidate must have a proven record on scientific leadership by the use of modern 3rd generation synchrotron diffraction techniques (e.g. ESRF, Petra III etc.) like for example scanning and dark field XRD microscopy, advanced topography techniques (e.g. at ANKA), coherent Bragg diffraction etc.
- The candidate must have personality with a strong aim for leadership in science, including high quality scientific publications, third party acquisition, staff management and internal IKZ project support.
- IKZ will promote the career of the young colleague by an internal advisory board; opportunities for teaching experience are given within Berlin universities.
