The School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography at University of Oxford supports postdoctoral and ‘early career’ fellowships from internal applicants and from applicants outside of Oxford. The Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship scheme enables early career researchers to undertake a significant piece of publishable work over a period of three years.
Requirements:
- Applicants must have a track record of research, but should not have held an established academic appointment in the UK.
- The selected candidates are expected to undertake a significant piece of publishable work (not a reworking or mere extension of the PhD/DPhil project) during their tenure, and that the Fellowships should lead to a more permanent academic position.
Number of fellowships: Approximately 100 Fellowships
Fellowship value: Trust will contribute 50% of each Fellows total salary costs up to a maximum of £25,000 per annum and the balance is to be paid by the host institution.

- A draft research proposal (maximum 2 pages, 12 point, 1.5 spaced)
- A CV (maximum 2 pages)
- A statement of support from the proposed SAME mentor (who must be an employee of the department)
