Marie Sklodowska-Curie ITN: CLOUD-MOTION Innovative Training Network (ITN)

The EU-funded  Horizon 2020 Research & Innovation program has two main strategic objectives: to strengthen the scientific and technological base of European industry and to encourage its international competitiveness, while promoting research that supports EU policies.
CLOUD-MOTION is a four-year project providing a training network for the career development of fifteen (15) Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) at ten partner institutions across Europe. 

Organization: The research projects will be carried out at the CLOUD facility at CERN.

Research Overview:

1. CLOUD is investigating, under controlled atmospheric conditions in the laboratory,
2. The formation and growth of aerosol particles, and the chemistry and microphysics of liquid and ice clouds.
3. A unique focus of the experiment is to evaluate the influence of galactic cosmic rays on aerosols, clouds and climate.

Requirements:

1. Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or a closely-related science
2. Strong computational skills and good experimental skills
3. Highly organized person with independent, self-driven personality
4. Good communication skills, and good spoken and written English

Eligibility conditions

ESRs must, at the time of recruitment

1. A). be in possession of a university degree, and (B) have a maximum of four (04) years of full-time research experience, including any period of research training, after obtaining the degree which formally allowed them to embark on a doctorate in the country.
2. ESRs cannot be PhD holders at the start of their employment contract.
3. Proficiency in English is required; training in project-related languages can be provided through the ITN’s training budget.
