PhD Scholarship in In-Situ NMR based Metabonomics of Microbial Secondary Metabolites at the DTU Chemistry (Technical University of Denmark)
A PhD fellowship is available at the Department of Chemistry at the Technical University of Denmark. The PhD project is part of the Center for Microbial Secondary Metabolites, CeMiSt and will be executed at the NMR Center DTU under the supervision of Charlotte Held Gotfredsen.
The laboratory is seeking a candidate to study the secondary metabolite profile from microbial sources using mainly NMR spectroscopy as the analytical technology and metabonomics tools for data mining to track and extract data on the production and diversity of secondary metabolites.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in chemistry/engineering/mathematics with prior experience in computer science or NMR spectroscopy.
- Experience in metabonomics/metabolomics would be an advantage.
- Keen interest in applying analytical and computational tools to mine big data is important.
- Should be highly motivated, able to work independently and should be confident in both written and spoken English.
Expected starting date: December 2019.
Application procedure
Applications must be submitted as one PDF file containing all materials to be given consideration. Fill out the online application form, and attach all your materials in English in one PDF file. The file must include:
- A letter motivating the application (cover letter)
- Curriculum vitae
- Grade transcripts and BSc/MSc diploma
- Excel sheet with translation of grades to the Danish grading system.
