French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) is inviting applications for a PhD position on Normal and Cancerous Intestinal Epithelial Stem Cells for a duration of 36 months commencing from April 1, 2019.
About the thesis subject:
- The doctoral student (H / F) will be part of the Development, cancer and stem cells team headed by Dr. Michelina Plateroti.
- The selected candidate will contribute to the study of intestinal pathophysiology with a particular focus on the biology of stem cells in a normal context and cancer.
- In particular, the signaling networks responsible for maintaining stem cell homeostasis will be studied and the effects of their alterations on stem cell transformation and tumor development will be analyzed in detail.
Requirements:
- Candidate must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Biology or Health Sciences.
- Candidate is expected to have experience in the field of molecular and cellular biology and a good knowledge of cancer biology.
- Prior experience with animal testing, cell culture (primary cultures and cell lines) and / or manipulation of gene expression will be a plus.
- Candidate must have a positive attitude as a member of the team.
- Candidate must be able to communicate (oral and written skills) in English.
