Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) is inviting applications for the Spectroscopy of Novel Materials Group at the SIS beamline at the Swiss Light Source.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Conduct research using angle-resolved photoemission ARPES and other techniques for studying novel topological quantum materials, superconductivity as well as correlated electronic systems
- Active participation in the collaboration with theory groups at PSI and/or external Institutions/Universities
- Support external users at SIS beamline, which provides a state-of-the-art experimental set-up to study the electronic band structure of novel complex materials by spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopies
Requirements:
- Applicant must be recently graduated PhD scientist with experience in the field of condensed matter research, who is interested in research on novel quantum materials, superconductivity and correlated systems.
- Applicant must have experience with ARPES.
- Applicant must also have experience with or interest in learning about sample characterizations and transport measurements.
- Applicant must be able to work well in a group and are willing to collaborate with and lend support to other team members as well as external guest scientists.
