Postdoctoral Fellow: Spectroscopy of Novel Materials Group 1041 views

Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) is inviting applications for the Spectroscopy of Novel Materials Group at the SIS beamline at the Swiss Light Source.

Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Conduct research using angle-resolved photoemission ARPES and other techniques for studying novel topological quantum materials, superconductivity as well as correlated electronic systems
  • Active participation in the collaboration with theory groups at PSI and/or external Institutions/Universities
  • Support external users at SIS beamline, which provides a state-of-the-art experimental set-up to study the electronic band structure of novel complex materials by spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopies

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be recently graduated PhD scientist with experience in the field of condensed matter research, who is interested in research on novel quantum materials, superconductivity and correlated systems.
  • Applicant must have experience with ARPES.
  • Applicant must also have experience with or interest in learning about sample characterizations and transport measurements.
  • Applicant must be able to work well in a group and are willing to collaborate with and lend support to other team members as well as external guest scientists.

Duration: limited to two years
