The Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture (FBA) at Nord University invites applications for a two-year postdoc fellowship in Marine Ecology: Carbon cycling in Arctic benthos. The position is affiliated with the Research Group Ecology and the successful candidate will join the Benthos Ecology research unit. The post-doc project aims to improve the knowledge of carbon and nutrient cycling through the food web of arctic communities in the northern Barents Sea and adjacent slope, which is the study area of this project.
Starting date: March 1st 2019
Qualification:
- The candidate should have a PhD or equivalent degree in Marine Biology, Ecology or related research fields.
- Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: benthic community ecology, sediment community oxygen demand, nutrient cycling, bioturbation studies, stable-isotope pulse-chase experiments, food-web analysis.
- Documented abilities to work independently, as well as within an interdisciplinary research team are required.
- Applicant must be highly motivated, creative and ambitious with an excellent academic record and the ability to collaborate in a team whilst developing their own research ideas.
