Postdoctoral position: Polymer Materials Modelling at Molecular Level 1808 views

The School of Chemical Engineering at Aalto University is inviting applications form a motivated Postdoctoral researcher in polymer materials modelling at molecular level.

About the position:
  • The successful candidate will get to conduct computational and theoretical scientific research aiming at high impact scientific publications in the field of polymer materials modeling at molecular level.
  • Focus areas involve macromolecular assemblies, polymers and polymer interactions, and especially molecular level modelling of these.
  • The work is computational and theoretical: the simulations make use of linux/unix based high performance computing environments (HPC computing).
  • The selected candidate would join a strong group of scientists focusing on Soft Materials Modelling lead by Dr. Maria Sammalkorpi.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a doctoral degree in Computational Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Technology, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Applicant is expected to have a good publication history, a strong interest in soft materials modelling and understanding of polymer systems.
  • Applicant must have research background atomistic, molecular level or mesoscale particle based modelling of polymers, surfactant systems, or biomolecules, especially in solvent.
  • Applicant should have demonstrated expertise in molecular dynamics or Monte Carlo simulations at atomistic and coarse-grained detail, and dissemination of scientific results, and is well versed in statistical mechanics and data handling.
  • Good oral and written command of English is necessary in this position.
