Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position to join the Metabolic engineering and diabetes therapy group. The group is headed by Dr. Joan Guinovart. The selected candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Guinovart and the direct supervision of Dr. Duran (Research Associate).
Tasks:
- Perform experiments aimed to study the physiological and pathological roles of brain glycogen.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD in any of the Life Sciences
- Applicant must have knowledge of management and analysis of genetically altered animals (i.e. colony management, behavioural tests); Histology/immunohistochemistry techniques; Western blot and Real-Time PCR
- Applicant must possess excellent writing and verbal communications skills in English. Also organizational and analytical skills and must demonstrate exceptional capacity to learn new techniques.
- Applicant must have preferably 2 years’ experience in neurosciences and neurodegenerative diseases
