UCT Postdoc Research Fellowship for International Students in South Africa at the University of Cape Town (UCT). The university is inviting applications for Postdoc research fellowship on Resilience in the Anthropocene starting on the 1st January 2019 and end on the 31st December 2019. The program is open to candidates of any nationality.
The Resilience in the Anthropocene project aims to understand the practices of security professionals through their implementation of the concept of resilience.
Scholarship Description:
Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded to study Postdoctoral research on Resilience in the Anthropocene.
Scholarship Benefits:
The value of the fellowship is R300, 000 and is tenable for one (01) year.
Duration
- The fellowship will start on the 1st January 2019 and end on the 31st December 2019.
- The fellowship is tenable for 1 year, where renewal for a second year is possible (on evidence of satisfactory academic progress and availability of funds.
The fellowship does not include any travel allowances, accommodation or other benefits. Application for tax exemption will be made by the University.
Eligibility for the Scholarship
Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The application is open to candidates of any nationality;
- Applicants must have received a doctoral degree (within the previous five years)
- May applicants not have held full-time permanent professional or academic posts? successful applicants will be required to comply with the University of Cape Town’s approved policies, procedures and practices for postdoctoral fellows.

- A letter of application outlining the applicant’s expertise, research interests and experience;
- A Curriculum Vitae including a list of publications and the scholarly output;
- Certified copies of all academic transcripts;
- An example of a written work;
- Names and contact details OR letters of reference from two referees. The referees must be academics who have taught, supervised or worked alongside the applicant.
