PostDoc in Electrical and Computer Engineering is available in the Faculty for Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Technische Universität München (TUM) postdoc positions in the area of “Design, Optimization and Analysis of Communication Networks for Flexibility based on Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Virtualization” are available.
In particular, in a planned research project starting in September 2015 funded by the European Research Council as part of the ERC Consolidator Grant “Quantifying Flexibility in Communication Networks (FlexNets)” the following topics are going to be addressed by postdoctoral experts
- Development of mathematical models for the analysis and optimization of networks for flexibility
- Development of graph models for the analysis and optimization of networks for flexibility
The successful applicant is expected to participate actively in research and teaching activities of the chair. The chair offers a team-oriented, motivating work atmosphere, allowing concentrating on challenging research questions.
The positions are based on full-time work contracts and can be funded for 2-3 years. Remuneration is according to the Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder (TV-L).
Qualifications: Applicants should have an excellent PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Informatics or Mathematics and a strong publication record in top venues in the networking area or related areas. They should have a solid knowledge and in-depth experience with optimization of communication networks and/or graph models and algorithms for communication networks suitable to perform and guide research in the above areas.
The candidates are expected to have excellent communication skills in English. Solid German language skills are appreciated. Enthusiasm, creativity and team-orientation are essential.
