Doctor of Biotechnology program is conceived to train students in the application of principles of management, to create an understanding of management issues for research enterprises and technology ventures and the use of specialist training in the area of biotechnology and research. Students in the program will go through courses at an advanced level in areas such as regulatory and legal issues, innovation, and biotechnology venture management. In addition to that, a large self-directed study component and a thesis component is included to explore and develop academic areas of interest.

Qualifications and Requirements (International students):
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Biotechnology with Class I or IIA honors from University of Queensland or equivalent or master’s with accepted results in the research component and a Grade Point Average of 5.5 on a 7 point scale or at least 2 years relevant specialized experience and/or scientific publications. All probable candidates will be interviewed as part of the selection process.
- English proficiency: IELTS overall 6.5; writing 6, reading 6, speaking 6, and listening 6.
- Visa necessities: International students must assume this program on campus at University on a full time basis to be qualified to apply for an Australian student visa.
- Masters degree for PhD program
