The Hevesy Laboratory is a radiochemical and radiopharmaceutical division within the Center for Nuclear Technologies (DTU Nutech) at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) inviting applications from enthusiastic and talented individuals for a PhD scholarship in analysis of low-level cosmogenic radioisotopes in air and precipitation in the Radioecology Section.
About the Project:
- Develop analytical method for determining cosmogenic 35S in air and water.
- Develop analytical method for determining cosmogenic 22Na in air and water.
- Develop method for sensitive coincidence counting of 22Na by gamma-gamma or beta-gamma spectrometry.
- Study of the annual variation of 35S and 22Na in air and rain.
- Develop a field -based method for extraction of 35S and 22Na from natural waters.
Qualifications:
- Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a master degree in chemistry or physics with professional background
- Experience within one or more of the following fields: Radio analytical chemistry, Nuclear analytical techniques (alpha, beta, gamma and liquid scintillation counter) and applications, Environmental chemistry, Atmospheric chemistry, Radiation physics, Atmospheric physics, Analytical chemistry,
