The Centre for Heart Lung Innovation, Canadian Stem Cell Network funded study entitled “Pipeline towards stem cell driven personalized medicine for atrial fibrillation” invites applications from highly qualified candidates for the position of post-doctoral research fellow.
About the position:
- The postdoctoral Fellow to play a key role in assisting with development and execution of protocols and experimentation related to stem cell derived cardiomyocytes, drug screening and biomedical engineering.
- Candidate will also gain experience working alongside National and International Collaborators from Cardiology, Genetics, Developmental Biology, and Biomedical Engineering.
- The Candidate will be based in the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation at St. Paul’s Hospital and will be employed by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
- The candidate will report directly to the Principal Investigator on the study, Dr. Zachary Laksman.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a PhD in a related field and will have had relevant research experience within the field of cardiovascular physiology, stem cell culture and differentiation, and/or biomedical engineering.
- Candidate will have authored or co-authored publications and preferably will have presented at scientific and/or medical conferences.
- Significant stem cell culture and differentiation and/or engineering experience are desirable.
- Candidate will be required to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or have a current Canadian work visa.
